France: Russian lawmaker under investigation for tax evasion
(MENAFN) In France, the billionaire Russian lawmaker Suleiman Kerimov has been arrested on suspicion of tax evasion on Monday and is under formal investigation.
A French diplomat in Moscow has been sent for by Russia in order to objection about Kerimov's arrest; however he had been released under strict conditions. A Kremlin spokesman guaranteed "we will apply all efforts, maximum of efforts, to defend his legal interests."
It was pointed out by the spokesman that Kerimov possessed diplomatic immunity; he said "It is especially important here that Suleiman Kerimov has a diplomatic passport which he used to enter France."
