Dubai joins Muscat to celebrate Oman's 47th National Day


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- In celebration of Oman's 47th National Day on 18 November, Dubai has organised an array of exciting activities that promise to make the occasion even more memorable for Omanis visiting Dubai over the corresponding weekend.

The special festivities will begin on arrival at Dubai International airport, where Omani visitors will receive a warm welcome, complete with flowers, chocolates, light refreshments in addition to Omani flag giveaways.

Prominent Dubai retail destinations including Mall of the Emirates and City Centre malls will enrich the shopping experience for visitors by putting on a range of entertainment activities.

As part of Dubai's retail calendar, Majid Al Futtaim's Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira and City Centre Mirdif are set to celebrate the occasion of Oman National Day with a host of spectacular engaging entertainment and carts serving fresh Arabic coffee and dates on November 17 and 18. As Oman ranks in the top five markets for visitors to Dubai, the malls are expecting to mark the great moment with guests from the Sultanate.

At Mall of the Emirates, guests will be treated to a themed cultural entertainment on November 17 and 18 at 5:00PM, 6:00PM, 7:00PM, 8:00PM, 9:00PM & 10:00PM.

While families at City Centre Deira will have fun with the interactive and larger than life robot characters roaming around the mall, while Violet, Spike and Rambo of the Toy Band will entertain kids with their favourite music, visitors of City Centre Mirdif will enjoy a Music Fantasy Marching Band to catch everyone's attention. Visitors can enjoy the entertainment on November 17 and 18 at 2.30pm, 5.00pm, 7.15pm and 9.00pm

Shoppers can also sip on freshly brewed Arabic coffee from the roaming hospitality cart at City Centre Deira and at the hospitality corner at City Centre Mirdif. All visitors will receive the Oman flag to fly in celebration of the occasion.

In the evening, families are invited to make their way to Kite Beach for a fun evening out as well as special photo opportunities at popular home-grown food outlet SALT, which will be fully decorated in celebration of the day.

On 17 November, Global Village, the region's longest-running cultural, shopping and entertainment event, is offering Omani visitors a fantastic musical treat in the form of popular Lebanese singer Fares Karam, who will put on a free live performance at 9pm.

Finally, a number of Dubai hotels, including DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Dubai Jumeirah Beach, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Sheraton Dubai Mall of the Emirates, are joining the celebrations by offering exciting packages for Omani visitors staying in Dubai over the weekend beginning 16 November.
