GM Korea likely to leave the country


(MENAFN) The head of General Motors Co.'s South Korean operations, didn't deny the potential withdrawal of the US carmaker from S.Korea over lower sales, during a parliamentary audit meeting.

Without denying the decade-long rumors, GM Korea President and CEO said he will do the best he can to improve the Korean unit's business.

As GM Korea recorded 15 years of business in Korea, concerns that it may leave it over weak sales, are rising.

In the period of Jan-Sep, GM Korea's domestic car sales dropped 20% to 102,504 units, and 2.3% annually to 299,476.
