UAE's Lamia eyes gold in Germany

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) UAE's wonder girl Lamia Tariq Mallalah AlFarsi is gearing up for her next international stint. The six-year-old Rhythmic Gymnast will be participating in the RG Winter Cup in Leverkusen, Germany, on December 1 and 2.

The little lass has been undergoing rigorous training in a bid to bring back laurels to her country.

With an unwavering passion to compete in the future Youth Olympics and subsequently the Summer Olympics it is only a matter of time when Lamia will make UAE and the world sit up and take notice of her accomplishments.

To say that her feats have not been recognised would be wrong. Dubai-based Indian entrepreneur, Harmeek Singh, founder and chairman of the Plan B Group, has signed her as their 'Brand Influencer' for the Dubai Women's Run to be held on November 17.

This is the first time that a budding Emirati sports star in the UAE has been signed on by an expatriate patron.

"The UAE has been my home for over 15 years and supporting Lamia's upcoming career in sport is a great opportunity for me to give back to the community that has made this place a home for all of us.

"I saw great potential in her, and therefore chose to support and mentor her to offer the necessary support to witness exciting transformations on the road to success, It is also an emotional bond now as I call her my emirati daughter," added Harmeek.
