Ukraine wins gold medal at Invictus Games


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The 29-year-old Defense Ministry officer, Oleg Zimnikov from Kyiv, has won the first gold medal for Ukraine at the 3rd Invictus Games in Toronto.

Zimnikov finished first in the men's IT7 1500m run (4:33.78), Ukrinform reports.

France's Ollivier Boutier took a silver medal (4:34.99), and New Zealand's Dan Crawford won a bronze medal (4:36.01).

This is the first gold medal for Ukraine, which participates in the Invictus Games for the first time.

Earlier, Ukrainian Serhii Torchynskyy won a bronze medal in the men's IF4 shot put.

The competitions will last until September 30.
