Jordan- King discusses with Omani FM bilateral ties, region

Amman, Aug. 20 (Petra)--His Majesty King Abdullah II on Sunday, received Omani Foreign Minister Youssef Bin Alawi, who conveyed to his majesty the greetings of Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed of Oman.

During the meeting, held at Basman Palace, the King and the Omani minister highlighted the strong brotherly ties between the two countries as well as their keenness to activate bilateral cooperation agreements, mainly in the economic, investment, military and security fields. They also stressed the importance of holding meetings of the Joint Jordanian-Omani Committee.

Talks during the meeting also dealt with the latest regional developments, particularly in Yemen, Syria and Iraq and means of addressing them.

His Majesty voiced appreciation of efforts led by the sultan of Oman to defuse regional crises.

The meeting was attended by the Royal Court chief, the minister of foreign and expatriate affairs, the director of the King's office, the Omani ambassador to Jordan and the delegation accompanying the Omani minister.
