(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): The spy-network on Saturday claimed thwarting another terrorist attack in capital Kabul by confiscating an explosives-filled vehicle.
A statement from the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said a white-color corolla model car full of explosives was detected and seized along with the would-be suicide driver.
The car had entered Kabul€™s fifth municipal district from central Maidan Wardak province and belonged to the Haqqani Network terrorist group, the statement said.
It identified the detained driver as Khalid--a member of the Haqqani Network. The explosives weighing 150kgs were skillfully hidden in the car.
The NDS said the seizure prevented another possible tragic incident in the holy month of Ramadan.
