Vietnam's economy expected to grow by 5.1% in Q1


(MENAFN) The General Statistics Office (GSO) in Vietnam said that the county's gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to grow 5.1% in Q1 of 2017.

GSO Chief confirmed that the growth is lower than 6.12% and 5.48% that is recorded in the same period in 2015 and 2016.

Also, the service sector is on the recovery trend in three month period with a hike of 6.52% year-on-year, contributing 2.65% to the GDP of Vietnam in Q1.

Also, Nguyen Bich Lam said: "The country's economy is showing signs of slowing down. If no breakthroughs are made in the next quarters, the country will find it hard to realize the set target of GDP growth."
