Jordan- Media accreditation for WEF meeting opens

Amman, March 22 (Petra)- Media accreditation for the World Economic Forum (WEF) on the Middle East and North Africa, which will be held at the Dead Sea in Jordan between May 19 and 21, is now open for media representatives, according to a statement issued, on Wednesday, by the forum.

Journalists wishing to cover the event can submit accreditation requests online at www.weforummedia.org . The deadline for media accreditation is April 27.

Convening under the theme, "Enabling a Generational Transformation", the WEF meeting is expected to attract more than 1,000 government, business and civil society leaders from more than 50 countries are expected to participate.

The meeting will take place in the context of growing economic reform efforts that are being made in many countries of the region, as well as shifting investment and trade priorities. It will also aim to address continued geopolitical shifts and humanitarian challenges by supporting multi stakeholder dialogue on the situation in Syria, Iraq and Libya, and the ongoing refugee crisis.

Top decision-makers from all over the globe will also explore the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution – a new era in the global economy promising huge opportunities, resulting from the convergence of digital information and technological advancements in various economic fields.

The WEF meeting on the Middle East and North Africa is hosted in Jordan in partnership with the King Abdullah II Fund for Development. This year's meeting will be the ninth Jordan has hosted.
