Kuwait's Al-Dousari 4th in world shooting para cup


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AL-AIN, UAE, Feb 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti shooter Atef Al-Dousari came in fourth place at the World Shooting Para Sport World Cup, which concluded earlier on Monday here.

Al-Dousari achieved the position in the R4 mixed 10 meters' air rifle with a score of 210.08 points, outperformed by Ukraine's Vasyl Kovalchuk, who took the bronze medal with 211.5.

Britain's Ryan Cockbill won gold and Swedish Phillip Johnson won silver.

Last Saturday, Al-Dousari won his first victory at the World Cup, coming first in the R4 mixed 10 meters' air rifle standing SH2 with a score of 253 points; a new world record.

Khulaif Al-Qihs, head of Kuwaiti delegation to the event, expressed content over the achievements, telling KUNA that Al-Dousari gained respect of all participating teams, especially with Kuwait celebrating its national days.

The championship featured teams from Australia, Austria, Brazil, France, Georgia, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Thailand, Ukraine, Britain, Sweden, Kuwait, UAE, Hungary and Slovenia. (end) bsu.hb
