Algeria to bid for petrochemical plants at USD6bn

(MENAFN) Algeria's state energy firm Sonatrach launched invitations for global engineering firms to bid on four main petrochemical plants at a value of USD6bn.

Moreover, the firms selected will carry out construction work on the four refineries located in Tiaret, Hassi Messaoud and two in Skikda.

In addition, the plants in Tiaret and Hassi Messaoud will have 5mn tons capacity technology.

However, OPEC member Algeria, hit hard by the crash in oil prices, aims to build more refineries to enhance its profits.
