Kuwait- Municipality razes 18 cafes

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 19: The Emergency Team at the Kuwait Municipality branch in Hawally Governorate conducted an intensive campaign against unlicensed cafes, resulting in the demolition of 18 cafés found to have put up illegal structures, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Director of the branch Falah Al-Shimmari disclosed the campaign was aimed at tracking down cafés and restaurants that constructed unlicensed extensions, in addition to inspecting the validity of their licenses.

Meanwhile, in Mubarak Al-Kabeer, the Emergency Team conducted a similar campaign in Subhan Industrial Area, leading to the confiscation and destruction of 1,513 kg of expired foodstuff found in a food industry operating in the area.

The team's leader, Nasser Al-Hajeri, said the inspectors carried out routine inspection of food companies in the area, affirming the team will intensify its campaigns to ensure that the foodstuff sold by these companies pose no hazard to consumers.

On the other hand, the Public Relations Department in the Municipality urged the public to report their complaints through hotline number 1844448 or its Twitter account @Kuwmun. The department assured that every complaint or suggestion will be dealt with as per the policies of the Municipality
