General Motors to invest USD1b in US factories


(MENAFN) After recent criticism of the company by President-elect Donald Trump, General Motors will announce soon plans to invest USD1b in its US factories.

The automaker is making the decision for business and not political reasons, according to person close to the matter but refused to be identified.

Moreover, this plan will help GM to create more than 1,000 jobs while the automaker also plans to make other efforts to boost US employment, including adding engineers.

On the other hand, GM declined to comment, but Counsel Craig Glidden told the Wall Street Journal, which reported the company's plans hat any investment the company might disclose had been long planned and was not a response to Trump's criticism.
