Omani-German Joint Committee holds session


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The 14th session of the Omani-German Joint Committee was held at the General Diwan of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday.

The Omani side was chaired by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al Busaidi, secretary general at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs while it was represented from the German side by Matthias Machnig, state secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

They touched on issues related to trade, investment, renewable energy, transfer of education, science, knowledge and technology, pushing tourism sector forward and ensuring its sustainable development, as well as benefiting from the German expertise in protection of scientific innovations, how to utilise and market them in a bid to transform them into productive industries.

The two sides also discussed the progress being witnessed in cultural and educational fields, in addition to the importance of expanding and diversifying interests in various areas.
