WASHINGTON, Dec. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Yesterday, Jimmy Seibert, founder and senior pastor of Antioch Community Church and pastor to HGTV's Chip and Joanna Gaines, appeared on Washington Watch with Tony Perkins, a national radio show which airs on more than 240 stations across the country. On the show, Pastor Seibertdiscussed the attacks leveled against him simply because he preached the biblical view of marriage.BuzzFeed published an article criticizing Pastor Seibert for preaching biblical truth and went on to question Chip and Joanna Gaines on the degree to which they agreed with their pastor's views.

In the interview, Pastor Seibertexplained what impact BuzzFeed's attack piece was having on the traffic to the Antioch Community Church's website, "Viewership has increased by a thousand fold… That has actually been the most encouraging side of the journey over the last 48 hours or so. Thousands, and maybe hundreds of thousands of people are now getting Scripture, getting some clarity, getting some truth and some thought on this issue of marriage, and life, and sexual identity. In a weird way we're grateful, because that message is getting out."

When asked about speaking truth in love Pastor Seibert went on to say, "I call it 'compassion clarity'. God defined what marriage is, not you, or I, or anyone. God defined what male and female are. As a person of faith I just decided that God's got to be right. That does not mean that we're not all on a journey. There has to be tremendous compassion for anyone and any sin or any journey or any challenge. There's great compassion for the journey but we can't switch the fixed point. God's truth and God's word is going to be our fixed point that we're all journeying toward."

Family Research Council PresidentTony Perkins, the host of Washington Watch, responded, "This reminds me of another passage of Scripture. It says, 'all things work together for good, for those who love the Lord and are called according to his purposes.' …[this] is actually giving a platform to the truth and a lot of people are seeing something they may not have seen before," concluded Perkins.
