DUBAI, 24th October, 2016 (WAM) -- Dubai Municipality will be organising the First Dubai International Conference on Applied Nutrition on the 7th and 8th of November, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The organising committee has prepared a wide range of programmes for the conference, which comes in line with the national agenda of the UAE that focuses on diseases caused by wrong dietary habits.
Obesity among children will be the most important theme to be addressed by the conference as it has become a complex problem affecting many families in the region and all over the world, due to the great impact on the lives of children and their future. 33 percent of UAE children in the age group of 5-17 are overweight and obese, which leads to diabetes, according to the civic body.
One of the main goals of the conference, organised by the Food Safety Department of Dubai Municipality, is to enhance knowledge on all aspects of applied nutrition and its effects on health.
