Hyundai's sales soar 3.3 percent in August

(MENAFN) Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's chief automaker, had its sales witness a surge of 3.3 percent in August on-year due to overhauled marketing measures taken to strengthen the demand.

Total sales in August were at 369,792 vehicles, up from 358,098 units sold a year before, while domestic sales increased 6.1 percent on-year to 51,098 units, plus global shipments grew 2.8 percent to 318,694.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor announced it sold an overall 3,143,384 units throughout the first eight months, down 2.8 percent from a year earlier, which ultimately didn't hurt the automaker much.

Hyundai intends to resume the hard work to strengthen its business volume to survive changing market situations at home and abroad amidst a time when competition is escalating, particularly in emerging markets.
