Cameroon marks 43rd National Day

(MENAFN- Arab News) RIYADH: The Cameroon Embassy marked its 43rd National Day on Thursday night with a reception attended by Riyadh Gov. Prince Faisal bin Bandar and members of the diplomatic community.
Ambassador Iya Tidjani who hosted the celebration at his residence inside the Diplomatic Quarter said that he was happy many people attended because this showed their friendship with Cameroon. He also urged investors to place their money in his country.
He said that the country enjoyed strong bilateral relations with Saudi Arabia. 'As we mark our 43rd National Day the two countries are riding the crest of their excellent bilateral ties which go back a long way' he said.
He said diplomatic relations had grown over the years but believed that there was further scope for improvement. Ties were formally signed in 1961 based on a 'deep commitment' to peace and security and multilateralism he said.
He thanked Saudi Arabia for funding social and industrial projects in Cameroon through the Saudi Development Fund. He said there are about 50 Cameroonians enrolled in Arabic and religious courses at universities in the Saudi capital.
Cameroon has a growth plan running to 2035 and needs foreign investors to take advantage of the country's potential he said. The country offers tax customs financial and administrative incentives for investors he said.
Cameroon offers exemption from stamp duty on the establishment or increase in the lease of immovable property used exclusively for professional purposes and contracts for the supply of equipment and construction of buildings.
Cameroon has a good climate strategic location and stable socio-political environment he said.
