5 airstrikes hit ISIL targets in Syria, 24 in Iraq


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The US-led coalition continued to strike ISIL targets in Syria and Iraq, with a total of 5 airstrikes in Syria and a separate 24 in Iraq between 8am on March 25, and 8am on March 26, the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in a statement released Thursday.

In Syria, an airstrikes were carried out near two areas: Ar Raqqah, where an ISIL military garrison was struck, and Ain al Arab (Kobane), where four airstrikes struck two ISIL tactical unites, five ISIL fighting positions and destroyed two ISIL fighting positions.

In Iraq, 24 airstrikes were carried and approved by the Iraqi Ministry of Defense near five areas: Bayji, where an airstrike struck an ISIL tactical unit, Ramadi, where three airstrikes struck three ISIL tactical units and two ISIL fighting positions, Mosul, where two airstrikes struck an ISIL checkpoint and an ISIL staging area, Tal Afar, where an airstrike struck an ISIL fighting position, and as previously reported near Tikrit, where 17 airstrikes struck multiple ISIL buildings, two ISIL bridges, three ISIL checkpoints, two ISIL staging areas, two ISIL berms, an ISIL roadblock and an ISIL command and control facility.
