Stressing the delegation seeks to build on this relationship, he said exchange of visits between Arab and Portuguese chambers of commerce is vital to bolster the exchange in both direction and for benefit of the two regions concerned. The official said his country overcame the economic crisis that hit the global markets six years ago, and said the government's initiatives included providing facilities to attract foreign investors and to facilitate ventures that would invest and utilize the country's natural resources. The time is even more opportune for Kuwaiti businessmen to seek partnerships at present as the Portuguese government is in the process of considerable privatization of state bodies and utilities, Correia said.

Meanwhile, Al-Saqer said the Kuwaiti side, too, is keen on stronger partnership and exchange with Portugal, fully recognizing the wealth of opportunities in the country and realizing it is feasible to build on previous experience with the Portuguese market. The Kuwaiti Chamber of Commerce and Industry is willing to organize economic events, host delegations, and arrange activities to better introduce Kuwaiti investors to the wealth of opportunities in the friendly country. The visiting delegation includes representatives and actors from the fields of food industries, construction material, timber products, and agriculture, all seeking Kuwaiti investment partners
