(MENAFN- Arab Times) Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al- Khalid has decided to honor officers and personnel from the General Administration for Combating Drugs who were instrumental in seizing narcotic pills worth controlling the largest quantity of narcotic pills (four million) particularly the type called 'Kaptagon', reports Al- Rai daily. According to sources close to the Ministry of Interior each officer involved in the seizure is expected to get KD 5,000.
This is in addition to honoring personnel from other security sectors for their distinguished work. Sheikh Mohammad has expressed appreciation toward efforts rendered by the leadership of Drug Control General Department (DCGD) and its officers to fight against drug smuggling through what he described as the "vigilant eyes of the nation'' to safeguard Kuwait's security. In a statement issued by the Security Media Department, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Khaled extended appreciation to security officers and the leadership as regards the quantity of drugs confiscated lately, which also indicates that Kuwait is targeted by drug cartels. Statement added that extra efforts are required to fight the negative phenomenon, stressing on the importance of cooperating with all the relevant governmental agencies, public utility establishments, private sector and society to fight the danger
Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry Undersecretary Lieutenant General Suleiman Al-Fahad has expressed appreciation to Honorable Minister Sheikh Al-Khaled for honoring the leadership of DCGD, affirming that "this appreciative gesture and honor will cement the spirit of camaraderie bringing together all members of the security establishment"
