Arab League Ministerial Council Begins Its 141th Session


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The 141th session of the Arab Ministerial Council began at the ministerial level at the Cairo-based Arab League headquarters on Sunday under Moroccan foreign minister salahuddin mezwar in succession to his Libyan counterpart Dr. Mohamed Abdulaziz and in the presence of Arab League Secretary General Dr. Nabil Al Arabia and other invitees with Sudanese FM Barnabas Benjamin , Ambassador Abdulsalam Diallou , Head Of The Adhoc panel on the Palestinian people inalienable rights and Ahmed Al Jarba , the President of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition forces . HE Qatar's Assistant Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs Mohammad bin Abdullah Al-Rumaihi, represets his country to the meeting which will run for two days. Ahead of the meeting, Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby held a closed meeting Sunday with Arab foreign ministers ahead of the 141 session of the Arab Ministerial Council to be held in Cairo at the Arab League headquarters . During such a closed meeting, the participants tackled the agenda of the ministerial council meeting and developments of the Syrian crisis, especially the future prospects of the conflict after the failure of Geneva II conference for Syria peace. It also touched upon the outcome of the Arab contacts with the US over reviving the stalled Middle East peace process as well as the efforts to overhaul the Arab League. During its deliberations, the 141th session will discuss a host of topics relating to the joint arab aciton as far the political, economic , social , financial , security and administrative issues are concerned
