Two UAE nationals, accused of raping two Eastern European women at knifepoint, will be referred to the Dubai Court, the Dubai Police have said
The victims - V.B., a Moldavian, and E.D., Ukrainian - informed the police they were raped in mid-January. According to the women, before going to a well-known hotel's night club, they met two UAE nationals at the reception area. The accused reportedly told the women that they would accompany them to the club, as security guards usually prevent single men from entering. The two women agreed. At around 3.30am, as the two women were leaving, the first suspect offered to drop them home, which the women consented to
The accused, however, drove them to a villa, where he attempted to have sex with the Moldavian woman and when she refused, he threatened he would make dogs attack her. The second suspect intervened and reportedly told the women that the first suspect would drive them home
The first suspect allegedly drove the two women to a deserted area, asked the Moldivian woman to step out of the car and have sex with him. When she refused, he punched her on face, after which he allegedly raped her at knife point. At the same time, the second suspect allegedly raped the Ukranian woman at knife point in the car. The victims jumped out of the moving car on the way back and took a taxi to the police station
The police arrested the two suspects within 24 hours, who reportedly confessed to the crime. They drove the women to a deserted area as they did not want to attract attention from their neighbours
