(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Shaikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, attended the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Ajman Free Zone, one of the fastest-growing entrepreneurial and business clusters in the UAE.

The celebration was attended by Shaikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Representative of Ajmans Ruler for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Chairman of the the Economic Development Department and the Ajman Free Zone Authority, or Afza, as well as representatives of other government departments and VIPs.

On the occasion, the Afza presented a short documentary which highlighted several path-breaking initiatives and excellence achieved by Afza over the past years underlining the free zone as the definitive and cost-competitive investment destination in the region that provides a robust environment for the growth of businesses.

"The Ajman Free Zone has seen exponential growth over the years contributing significantly to the Emirates and the UAE's GDP. These remarkable growth and positive performance underline our commitment to further establish Ajman as a strong business hub. The Free Zone's growth also fits in perfectly with the remarkable strides of development achieved by Ajman in trade, manufacturing, tourism and services," Shaikh Ahmed said.

"The Ajman Free Zone provides a thriving entrepreneurial environment that benefits businesses from the world over. It has also accelerated the economic growth of Ajman by creating several thousand jobs and attracting inward investments, particularly in the indstrial sector."

"In addition to its strategic location, the Ajman Free Zone also offers a very cost-competitive business environment that supports multinational companies as well as small and medium enterprises. We believe in creating added value for our stakeholders, and thus the remarkable success of the free zone is a strong testament to the positive and enabling environment that we provide. Today we are working to launch the new smart warehouse facilities and the Ajman Offshore services."

Mahmood Al Hashemi, general manager of the Afza, said: "As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the free zone, we thank all our stakeholders and partners for their support.
