Russia's GDP Increases By Over 10 Pct In Last Three Years - Medvedev
MOSCOW, June 9 (NNN-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- Russia's GDP has increased by more than 10 per cent in the last three years alone, with manufacturing becoming the main source of growth, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said on Tuesday, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
"In the last three years alone, the gross product of our country has increased by more than 10 per cent and amounted to almost 215 trillion rubles [US$3,002 billion]. Moreover, the main source of growth - and this is such a synergistic result, if you will - was not the raw materials sector, but the manufacturing industry, primarily mechanical engineering," Medvedev said at the plenary session of the final United Russia Party.
Russia proved to whole world that it can cope with the most difficult challenges and knows how to hold a punch, Medvedev said.
"Such results have become possible primarily due to the sustainability of our domestic economy. It is impossible to deny or hush it up - its stable development even in a situation of military operations," Medvedev said.
