Ukraine, Latvia Sign Drone Deal
“The President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Latvia signed a Drone Deal. This is already the sixth agreement in this format that our country has concluded with partners. The Drone Deal opens many opportunities for Ukraine and Latvia in joint production, primarily in cooperation for defense, which is needed in light of all security challenges,” the statement said.
It is noted that Latvia will help strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities, including support in the field of drones, air defense, and missile defense systems.
The agreement also foresees the supply of defense products, financing of Ukrainian production, development of defense cooperation, and exchange of technologies, experience, and knowledge-particularly in building an integrated air defense system.
Zelensky briefed his counterpart on Ukraine's air defense needs and thanked Latvia for its support of the PURL program. The Latvian Prime Minister also announced preparations for additional contributions.
