Zelensky Plans To Invite Charles III To Ukraine

Zelensky noted that he has a close relationship with the British king, whom he has met on several occasions, particularly when the king publicly expressed his support following public disputes during the Ukrainian president's visit to the White House last year.

“Today I want to invite him [the king] very much. I don't know from the point of security. Yes, of course, we want to see him in Ukraine very much. I don't know how it will be this year, if it's possible, but of course we want to see him,” Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian leader noted that King Charles III continues to support Ukraine, but declined to disclose details.“It's up to his majesty to answer on such questions,” he said.

According to Zelensky, he and Charles III have developed a warm and trusting relationship.“We have a very good relationship, you know. Today, in the morning, when I spoke by phone with my wife, with all respect to Keir [Starmer], but my wife said best regards to his majesty first, of course, and then to the prime minister, of course. So of course, we, and Ukraine, love his majesty,” he added.

As reported by Ukrinform, on June 8, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Before this, he had met with the British monarch on March 17.

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, became the first member of the British royal family to visit Ukraine following Russia's full-scale invasion of our country.

Last year, Princess Anne, the sister of King Charles III of Great Britain, made an unannounced visit to Ukraine and met with President Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska.
