Trump Says Netanyahu Would Be Forced to Accept US–Iran Nuclear Deal
(MENAFN) Donald Trump said Sunday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would have no option but to accept any nuclear agreement reached between Washington and Tehran, asserting that US foreign policy decisions are fully controlled by him.
In an interview, Trump stated: “He won't have any choice. I call the shots. I call all the shots. He doesn't call the shots.”
His remarks came shortly after Iran launched ballistic missiles toward Israeli targets, marking a significant escalation following a fragile ceasefire reached earlier in April.
Trump had previously told media outlet that he would instruct Netanyahu not to respond militarily to the Iranian strikes. Reports from a news agencyand Israeli media indicated that the two leaders held a phone call following the missile barrage, though details of their conversation were not fully disclosed.
Despite the escalation, Trump emphasized that the missile attack would not derail ongoing diplomatic efforts with Tehran, saying the outcome of any agreement would depend solely on its merits.
He added that if negotiations ultimately fail, the United States could consider either military action against Iran or increased economic pressure through intensified sanctions and blockade measures.
