(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) Srinagar- Most parts of Jammu and Kashmir witnessed normal weather conditions on Sunday, though temperatures in several areas remained above seasonal averages, according to the Meteorological Department.

Gulmarg recorded a maximum temperature of 20.2 degrees Celsius, which was 3.4 degrees above normal, the weather office said.

In contrast, Jammu experienced relatively cooler weather, with the maximum temperature settling at 30.9 degrees Celsius, considerably below the normal level for the season.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast isolated light showers at a few places across Jammu and Kashmir over the next 72 hours.

Weather officials said rainfall activity is expected to increase from June 4, with fairly widespread rain likely across the Union Territory. The expected wet spell could bring relief from the above-normal temperatures being experienced in parts of Kashmir.
