SYDNEY - Fitness event Hyrox has named Adam Gangemi as its new PR manager for the APAC region.
In his new role, he will be focused on executing marketing and communications across APAC and supporting Hyrox's continued growth in the region. This includes building awareness of Hyrox, elevating its race storytelling, promoting inspiring participant stories and working with local partners and agencies to highlight the HYROX experience to more communities and people, said Gangemi in an exclusive conversation with PRovoke Media.
“What makes Hyrox so special is that every race has a thousand different stories behind it, from adaptive athletes, to first timers, to Hyrox veterans. I'm looking forward to being able to showcase this powerful community, work with exciting partners, launch Hyrox into new regions, and support the momentum already witnessed in APAC," said Gangemi.
He added that Hyrox has held races across regions such as Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore and South Korea, often in multiple cities too. His focus will be working with the marketing team to support these regions, as well as the emerging ones. "We have announced races in Indonesia and Malaysia, so I'm excited to see the warm reception those races get," he said.
Based in Sydney, Australia, Gangemi was previously with Team Lewis as its campaign manager. He joined the team in 2021 as its marketing associate and progressed through the ranks to make campaign manager in 2025.
"I loved being able to help brands grow their presence in Australia and APAC. Funnily enough, Hyrox was a client of mine, and it was great being able to support their journey to the fitness powerhouse they now are in APAC," said Gangemi. "Again, with other clients, I always felt proud when acquisitions or cap raises were successes, and you could see the impact it had internally. At Team Lewis I was able to work with some amazing colleagues and clients who always helped me do my best."
He added that he is excited to bring the Hyrox experience to new regions, and highlight the local stories of racers. "Being a race anyone can take part in, we see a number of inspiring adaptive athletes, senior participants, and interesting people all giving it their best effort. As the fitness industry continues to evolve, we want to show how HYROX remains at the centre of community, and gives everyday gym-goers something to work towards," he said.
