Katelyn Barney is an Associate Professor in the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Engagement) and affiliated with the School of Music at the University of Queensland. Her research focuses on advancing understandings about the role of collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people and improving pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students into and through higher education. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her edited book Musical Collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous People in Australia: Exchanges in the Third Space received the Ellen Koskoff Edited Volume Prize. She is also the Managing Editor of The Australian Journal of Indigenous Education.
