Anna Broinowski is a Walkley-winning filmmaker, nonfiction author and Sydney University synthetic media researcher who specialises in documenting counter-cultural subjects. Her globally screened films include Aim High in Creation! (ABC/Netflix), Forbidden Lie$ (MIFF/Palace) and Helen's War (SBS/CBC/ZDF). They have won 3 AFI/AACTAs, a Rome Festival Cult Prize, an Al Jazeera Golden Award and the Writer's Guild of America Nonfiction Screenplay, amongst others. Anna's books are Datsun Angel (Hachette), Please Explain: the rise, fall and rise again of Pauline Hanson (Penguin/Random House), and The Director is the Commander (Penguin, US reprint Skyhorse). A senior lecturer and Director of Sydney University's Master of Film and Screen Arts, Anna researches propaganda film, documentary and new AI screen technologies.
