French Official Accuses Israeli Company with Interference in Elections
(MENAFN) A senior French parliamentary figure has accused an Israeli company of attempting to interfere in France’s elections by spreading fabricated information targeting opposition candidates, according to reports.
Clemence Guette, vice president of the French National Assembly and a member of the left-wing La France Insoumise party, said the company identified as “BlackCore” was involved in efforts to manipulate the electoral process.
“It is now certain,” Guette wrote in a post on US social media platform X.
“The Israeli company BlackCore did indeed attempt to manipulate French elections by disseminating fabricated information to smear candidates from La France Insoumise,” she added.
According to reports, French judicial authorities have opened an investigation into the allegations, while Guette called for those responsible to be identified.
“The justice system is investigating. The exact sponsor must be unmasked,” she said, also expressing support for party colleagues François Piquemal, Sébastien Delogu, and David Guiraud, who she said were among those targeted in the alleged campaign.
