Anti-Graft Body Summons Former Deputy Over Allegations Of Misconduct
Amman, May 13 (Petra) – The Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC) summoned former deputy Mustafa Al-Amawi on Tuesday to testify regarding recent media statements in which he alleged instances of corruption involving members of parliament, reportedly occurring with the knowledge or assistance of former governments and ministers.
An official source at the Commission stated that the hearing lasted over three hours, during which investigators sought to verify the claims made in Al-Amawi's publicized remarks. The source noted that as a former member of parliament, Al-Amawi had been in a position to provide the Commission or relevant authorities with such information through official channels at the time of the alleged incidents.
The Commission has granted Al-Amawi until Wednesday to produce the documents he referenced during his testimony and claimed to have in his possession. The JIACC reiterated its commitment to investigating all credible allegations of corruption to ensure accountability and the protection of public institutional integrity.
