Roketsan Eyes Nearly USD1 Billion in Defense Exports

(MENAFN) Turkish defense manufacturer Roketsan anticipates nearing $1 billion in export revenue after a highly successful year fueled by increased production capabilities and rising investments in artificial intelligence-driven weapons technology, the firm’s chief executive informed Anadolu.

Chief Executive Officer Murat Ikinci stated that the company is embedding artificial intelligence into its weapons systems, allowing missiles to independently evaluate combat scenarios and engage targets in heavily contested battle zones.

During an appearance at Anadolu’s Technology Desk at the SAHA 2026 International Defense and Aerospace Exhibition in Istanbul, Ikinci explained that Roketsan is additionally pursuing broader autonomous capabilities, extending beyond ammunition systems into next-generation command-and-control technologies as well as manufacturing operations.

The five-day SAHA 2026 International Defense and Aerospace Exhibition resulted in agreements valued at $8 billion, while Anadolu acted as the exhibition’s worldwide communications collaborator.

Ikinci noted that Roketsan’s artificial intelligence initiatives are advancing alongside investments in essential technologies, including GPS-free navigation solutions, quantum sensing technologies, and hypersonic delivery systems such as the Tayfun Blok-4 ballistic missile.

At the exhibition, Roketsan introduced its latest Mini Cruise Missile, which the company characterized as the “youngest sibling” of its SOM, Atmaca, and Cakir missile series.

According to the company, the affordable missile — constructed with plastic and sheet-metal materials — can be deployed from an unmanned aerial vehicle and possesses a strike capability reaching 250 kilometers (155 miles).
