Benazir Income Support Programme Begins Phased Release Of New Payments

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) Payments under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) have been launched in phases for the new installment.

Under the programme, the quarterly financial assistance for deserving families has been increased from Rs13,500 to Rs19,500.

In this phase, beneficiaries will not only receive the regular payment, but children's educational stipends have also been included to provide further support to low-income families.

According to BISP, payments will begin from May 18, 2026. Women whose wallet accounts remained blocked until May 15 or who have not yet updated their accounts can collect their payments from any authorised camp or agent in their district.

Eligibility and payment details can be checked through the 8171 web portal and SMS service. Beneficiaries can send their CNIC number without dashes to 8171 through their mobile phones to receive information.

Authorities have clarified that 8171 is the only official number, and people should not trust messages or calls received from any other number. Beneficiaries have also been advised not to pay any extra fee or deduction to agents while collecting their payments.

Women visiting payment centres have been instructed to carry their original CNIC so the process can be completed transparently.

All centres have also been directed to facilitate deserving individuals and ensure immediate action in case of any corruption or malpractice.
