ASQA Rejects 2 Substandard Bitumen Shipments At Farahi Port

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Standards and Quality Authority (ASQA) says it has rejected two shipments of substandard bitumen sheets (isogam) at the Sheikh Abu Nasr Farahi port and returned them to the exporting country.

In a statement, the authority said technical staff at the Sheikh Abu Nasr Farahi Standards and Quality Department identified the two consignments, totalling 49.5 tonnes, during inspection and subsequently sent them back.

The authority stressed that the process of inspection and quality control of imported goods continues in a transparent, regular and strict manner at all border points across the country.

It added that there will be zero tolerance for the import of substandard, non-compliant and potentially harmful goods that could pose risks to public health.
