Israel Launches AI Influence Campaign Led by Former Trump Aide

(MENAFN) Israel has reportedly launched a multimillion-dollar digital influence initiative aimed at shaping how artificial intelligence systems present the country, with the effort led by a former adviser to US President Donald Trump, according to reports.

In September, Israeli officials hired Republican digital strategist Brad Parscale, who previously managed Trump’s 2020 election campaign, to oversee a pro-Israel online outreach strategy focused on improving the country’s digital image.

A key component of the initiative targets AI platforms, which Parscale reportedly believed were drawing heavily from critical or negative sources about Israel. His team has since worked on efforts intended to influence how such systems generate information about the country, as stated by reports.

According to the report, the project aims at “getting AI systems to portray Israel in a more favorable light,” though it remains unclear how much impact these efforts have had on AI-generated responses so far.

At the same time, public sentiment in the United States appears to be shifting. A recent Pew Research survey found that 60% of Americans now hold unfavorable views of Israel, compared to 53% the previous year, according to reports.

Israel has reportedly paid Parscale’s firm $9 million, with the contract recently renewed, as stated by reports.

Beyond AI-related efforts, the broader campaign also includes digital advertising and text messaging initiatives designed to improve Israel’s international image.
