Pakistan President Begins Week-Long Visit to China


(MENAFN) Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has left on a week-long official visit to China aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in trade and economic cooperation, according to reports.

The visit, taking place from April 25 to May 1, is being conducted at the invitation of the Chinese government, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

During the trip, Zardari is scheduled to visit Changsha in Hunan province from April 25 to 27, followed by a visit to Sanya from April 28 to May 1, as stated by reports.

He is expected to meet provincial leadership to discuss a range of bilateral issues, with a strong focus on economic ties and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), according to reports.

The Foreign Ministry did not confirm whether the president will also hold meetings with senior national-level Chinese officials in Beijing during the visit.
