Drone Strike in N. Gaza Leaves Five Dead, Among Them Three Children
(MENAFN) Five Palestinians, among them three children, were killed on Wednesday evening and several others were injured after a reported Israeli drone strike hit a civilian area in Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip, according to reports from medical sources.
A hospital source said the bodies of the five victims, including the children, were received along with multiple wounded individuals, one of whom was reported to be in critical condition.
Witnesses stated that the strike hit a group of people gathered near Al-Qassam Mosque, resulting in multiple casualties at the scene.
The injured and deceased were transported by ambulance to a hospital in Gaza, as stated by reports.
In parallel developments, Israel has continued what are described as daily breaches of a ceasefire agreement established last October, resulting in 786 Palestinian deaths and 2,217 injuries, according to health authorities in Gaza.
The ceasefire agreement was intended to end a two-year military campaign in Gaza that reportedly left more than 72,000 people dead and 172,000 injured, while also causing widespread destruction to about 90% of civilian infrastructure. Reconstruction needs have been estimated by the United Nations at roughly $70 billion.
