Iran Negotiations Impossible Under Threat, Iranian Ambassador Says
(MENAFN) Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, said on Tuesday that negotiations cannot proceed under threats or coercion, reiterating Tehran’s position as diplomatic contacts involving the United States continue and regional tensions remain high.
In a post on X, the envoy said, "a single country in possession of a large civilization will not negotiate under threat and force," saying the position is a substantial principle, reflecting what he described as Iran’s long-standing foreign policy approach.
His remarks come as Pakistan prepares to host a possible second round of talks between Iran and the United States, amid ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions and exploring potential pathways for dialogue between the two sides.
