Ministry Of Education And Higher Education Okays Gradual Return To Extra Curricular Activities
The decision was issued by the Health and Safety Department in co-ordination with the relevant authorities across the country.
In a circular addressed to school and kindergarten principals, the department outlined a series of updates aimed at enhancing student engagement while maintaining necessary safety standards.
According to the new directives, schools are now permitted to resume morning assemblies and hold daily prayers within internal school courtyards.
Indoor and outdoor school activities have also been reinstated, enabling students to actively participate in a wider range of educational and extracurricular programmes.
The circular further allows the use of indoor and outdoor playgrounds, as well as all open spaces inside school buildings, supporting students' physical activity and recreational needs while improving the overall quality of the learning environment.
The department stressed that adherence to precautionary measures remains essential.
All teaching and administrative staff are required to carry mobile phones at all times to ensure rapid response in case of emergencies.
The directive also calls for continued compliance with previously issued health and safety guidelines, stressing the importance of maintaining a secure school environment during this transitional phase.
