Maruti Suzuki India Ltd closed the month of March 2026 with a massive sales number. The company sold 225,251 units in the month, up from 192,984 units in March 2025. This works out to a rise of 16.8%. The brand's domestic sales also moved up, reaching 169,428 units from 153,134 units a year ago.
Dig a little deeper into the sub-segment across the cars. The small car portfolio, including Alto, S-Presso, Swift, WagonR, Baleno and Dzire, clocked 83,530 units in March 2026, compared with 78,561 units last year. That works out to a 6.3% increase.
SUVs and other utility models are doing more of the heavy lifting. Brezza, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Ertiga and XL6 together posted 71,356 units against 61,097 units in March 2025. That is a YoY rise of 42.7%. Exports are no longer sitting in the background. They are becoming a more visible part of the company's growth story.
For the financial year 2025-26, meaning the period from April 2025 to March 2026, Maruti Suzuki sold 2,422,713 units in total. Domestic sales also improved to 1,861,704 units, up from 1,795,259 units last year. That means a rise of 66,445 units, or 3.7%.
Exports were the strongest part of the annual story. They went up to 447,774 units from 332,585 units in the last financial year. In simple terms, that is a jump of 115,189 units, or 34.6%. Sales to other OEMs also moved up to 113,235 units from 106,422 units, showing a gain of 6,813 units.
The numbers are not dramatic, but they do show a steady direction. And often, that is what matters most.
