Report Says Iran Used Chinese Satellite To Track U.S. Bases

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Financial Times reported that Iran used a Chinese satellite to monitor U.S. military bases in the region, improving the accuracy of its military operations.

The report said Iran's Revolutionary Guard acquired and operated the TEE-01B satellite in 2024, gaining access to surveillance capabilities over key strategic locations.

Targets reportedly included U.S. bases in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Djibouti, and Oman, along with some civilian infrastructure in the Gulf.

The report said such surveillance could significantly enhance Iran's targeting precision and expand its operational reach across the region during ongoing tensions.

Separately, CNN reported that China may be considering supplying air defence systems to Iran, although China has denied the claim.

The developments come amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, including recent military escalation and a fragile ceasefire following weeks of conflict.

China has criticized U.S. actions such as the reported naval blockade of Iran, warning that such moves could destabilize the region and disrupt global energy supplies.

The reports highlight growing concerns over expanding military cooperation and surveillance capabilities, which could further complicate diplomacy and increase risks of escalation in the region.
