Iran Reaffirms Commitment to National Rights
(MENAFN) Iran’s Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref stated on Sunday that Tehran will remain resolute in protecting its entitlements “from the Strait of Hormuz to pursuing compensation,” after Saturday’s discussions with the United States held in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad.
Aref emphasized the importance of national solidarity, pointing to what he characterized as increasing unity within the population. He noted that the administration considers this cohesion a key pillar for promoting and securing the nation’s objectives.
“From strength in the Strait of Hormuz to pursuing compensation, we stand firm on the rights of the people; this is our commitment to a strong Iran,” he said.
He further remarked that Iran continues to be dedicated to defending its rights while maintaining efforts across both diplomatic channels and domestic initiatives.
Delegations from Iran and the United States wrapped up their most recent round of negotiations in Islamabad without achieving a formal agreement.
The talks, facilitated by Pakistan, came after several rounds of dialogue and proposal exchanges but ultimately did not result in a significant breakthrough.
Both parties departed Islamabad with major disagreements still unsettled, while indicating that additional diplomatic engagement will be necessary moving forward.
