Infant's Body Goes Missing From Grave In Bara, Probe Under Way
According to local residents, the incident took place in Shalobar, a village in Tehsil Bara, at the Nogazi Baba graveyard. The infant had been buried on April 3. However, when the family later visited the graveyard, they found the grave dug open and the body missing. The burial shroud was found lying near the grave.
A relative of the infant, Ali Haider Afridi, told TNN that it is still unclear when and how the body was removed. However, evidence at the scene suggests human involvement.
He stated that footprints and what appeared to be a woman's slipper marks were found near the grave, while there were no signs indicating involvement of any animal.

Meanwhile, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Bara Police Station, Javed Afridi, said that police reached the site as soon as they were informed and have initiated an investigation. However, no formal case has been registered so far.
Religious scholar Maulana Shams- Haq Afridi, a resident of Bara, expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating that such inhumane acts have no place in Islam. He also raised concerns that certain elements might use the bodies of newborns for unethical practices, such as black magic.
Following the incident, a wave of concern has spread among local residents, who have demanded a transparent and immediate investigation, and strict punishment for those responsible to prevent such tragedies in the future.
