Traffic Resumes On Bridge Connecting Saudi Arabia, Bahrain

(MENAFN- Nam News Network) RIYADH, April 7 (Xinhua)- Traffic on the King Fahd Causeway, which links Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, resumed on Tuesday after a temporary suspension earlier in the day, the King Fahd Causeway Authority said.

The authority had said traffic was suspended as a precautionary measure following alerts issued by Saudi Arabia's National Early Warning Platform in the Eastern Region.

“In reference to the alerts issued by the National Early Warning Platform in the Eastern Region (of Saudi Arabia) during the past hours, the movement of vehicles across King Fahd Bridge has been suspended as a precautionary measure,” the authority said in a statement posted on X on Tuesday.

The Saudi Ministry of Defense said early Tuesday morning that seven ballistic missiles launched toward the country's Eastern Region have been intercepted and destroyed, with debris from the ballistic missiles falling in the vicinity of energy facilities, and damage assessment is ongoing.

The King Fahd Causeway is a 25 km-long series of bridges and causeways connecting Saudi Arabia and Bahrain across the Gulf of Bahrain.
