Half of Iran’s Missile and Drone Capabilities Still Intact

(MENAFN) Despite a month of US-Israeli airstrikes, roughly half of Iran’s missile launchers and kamikaze drones remain operational, according to a military intelligence assessment cited by reports.

The assessment indicates that Iran continues to maintain a significant missile stockpile, with sources familiar with classified findings suggesting its capabilities may be less diminished than US officials have publicly stated. Previous reporting had also highlighted that Tehran’s arsenal might not be as degraded as claimed.

Some of Iran’s weapons are reportedly difficult to access, as strikes have targeted tunnel entrances used to conceal launchers and drones, a network constructed in anticipation of aerial bombardments.

Iran is also believed to retain a substantial portion of its short-range cruise missile inventory along its coastline. Additionally, it reportedly possesses “hundreds, if not thousands” of small boats and surface drones capable of threatening shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. These measures have effectively limited passage for unauthorized vessels, forming part of a broader strategy to exert economic pressure on US allies and global trade routes.
