Türkiye Advances Steel Dome Air Defense System
(MENAFN) Türkiye’s domestically designed Steel Dome air defense system is being developed with upgraded capabilities to address all of the nation’s security requirements, the CEO of its manufacturer, Roketsan, stated on Friday.
In an interview, Murat Ikinci described Steel Dome as a progressively evolving air defense framework that will be continuously enhanced with new technologies and features to counter emerging threats.
“It represents an infrastructure to which we will continuously add capabilities, integrate new technologies, and develop measures against new threats,” he explained. “I can say that we are working for it to be able to meet all of our country’s air defense needs.”
Ikinci noted that ROKETSAN is advancing with large-scale production across a variety of systems, including anti-tank, cruise, and anti-ship missiles, as well as ballistic and air defense missiles.
He emphasized the importance of ballistic missiles within the company’s portfolio, mentioning that both the TAYFUN ballistic missile and the SOM cruise missile are currently in production and being delivered.
“We are working around the clock. Production activities at ROKETSAN are continuing without slowing down,” he said.
Additionally, Ikinci highlighted that the company aims to swiftly expand its current production capabilities through new investments, stressing that present regional conditions make this expansion essential.
“We are striving with all our strength both to strengthen our country’s defense and to accelerate production in this field,” he added.
