CENTCOM Says U.S. Struck Over 10,000 Iran Targets

(MENAFN) The United States has struck more than 10,000 military targets inside Iran — including dozens of naval vessels and missile facilities — since the launch of its ongoing offensive, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Admiral Brad Cooper announced Wednesday.

Delivering the milestone figure in a video message posted to social media platform X, Cooper confirmed the campaign crossed a significant threshold within hours of his statement.

"US forces have struck more than 10,000 military targets. In fact, we hit the 10,000th Iranian target just hours ago," he said.

Iranian Navy Decimated, Cooper Declares
Among the most sweeping claims in Cooper's assessment was the near-total destruction of Iran's major naval assets, with 92% of the fleet's largest vessels now confirmed destroyed.

"They are not sailing, and my operational assessment is that they've now lost the ability to meaningfully project naval power and influence around the region and around the world," he added.

Beyond surface vessels, Cooper said the operation had also "significantly" degraded Iran's naval drone and missile stockpiles — and crucially eliminated Tehran's capacity to replenish them.

"We've also removed the regime's ability to rebuild them," he added.

Mounting Costs on Both Sides
The strikes have unfolded since Feb. 28, when the U.S. and Israel launched a coordinated offensive against Iran that has killed more than 1,300 people, including former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Tehran has answered with waves of drone and missile attacks directed at Israel and Gulf states hosting U.S. military installations.

The campaign has not come without cost to American forces. 13 U.S. service members have been killed and approximately 290 others wounded since operations commenced.
